Description |
Carved wooden pestle with a large, flat head and a slender body that widens near the proximal end, forming a roughly spherical knob; a length of orange cotton string is attached just below the knob, suggesting the pestle was stored hanging. The pestle was used to grind different ingredients during food preparation, and its smooth surfaces indicate much use and wear, despite still being solidly constructed. |
