Description |
Yellow polyester boxing shorts, "everlast" brand. Size large, with vertical red and blue stripes and the letters " TARICK " in red attached to waitline. Waistline is elastic. "KRONK" is attached at bottom of left leg. Born in 1972 to Lebanese parents, Tarick Salmaci began boxing at age eight at the Joe Hamoud Center in Dearborn, a recreation center designed to keep youth off the streets. At age eleven, he won his first amateur state championship and his first amateur U.S. Championship two years later. His prestigious list of amateur accomplishments include: six-time Michigan state championship, four-time Midwest Champion, three-time U.S. Champion, and Olympian trials finalist. In 1992, he went professional and became the North American Super Middleweight Champion in 1997. After rising to become the world's fourth-rated contender, Tarick retired in 2001. He often visits recreation centers to talk with youth about the benefits of staying off the streets. "From the first day I laced up my gloves, I always wanted to be a champion.
