Embroidered Jacket said to come from jacket is from Hebron (Al Khalil) a region of Palestine and is possibly 100 years old. Bought in the old City of Ramallah in 1981 from a shop. Approximate measurements: length: 51cm (20 in) width: 51cm (20 in) sleeve length 15cm (5.5 in) Couch stitching embroidered on metal cord and Made of Dubet or Tob beit: Densely machine-woven fabric, imported from Europe. patterns used: Tall palms: Popular motif in Ramallah dresses and scarves, a symbol of survival and good health. The fruit of the palm tree, dates, was an important source of nutrition. |
