Description |
Dream Defenders painting by Martin T. Reese. Dream Defenders is an activist organization located in Florida and founded in 2012. Artist description: "In this life, we have worlds within worlds, and battles within battles…and every being is presented with the opportunity to leave a legacy. The path is a choice, whether one of construction or destruction, love or hate, fight or flight. This piece is an expression of the individual and group efforts to oppose the predatory and destructive forces that have murdered, disenfranchised, and excommunicated the Palestinian people. It is a banner for those who fight with overwhelmingly inferior resources, yet clench their fists and hold on to the hope that one day their efforts will find them at peace and in the comfort of their homeland. It is a reminder that we must hold on tightly to the idea that we are all human and deserve to be treated with love, respect, and dignity…that we will not go quietly into the night, but will forever fight for freedom and equality…that in a world within worlds, in a battle within battles, the plight of the Palestinian People should be a concern and vested interest to us all…a part our legacy." |
