Description |
The Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity Award, 2003. The award reads "Award for Professional Excellence presented by the Arab American Institute Foundation to Helen Thomas, April 23, 2003" Made of clear lucite, the award is 7.5 inches in width at its base, 2.75 inches in depth at its base and 7.75 inches in height. It is an abstract form attached to a trapezoidal base. The face of the award is etched with an open hand and a floral pattern which comes from it, along with the words "Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity 2003" Also included is the velvet case for the award (2003.23.06). The case is a blue velvet box: 9 inches in width, 3.5 inches in height, 11 inches in depth. Adhered to the center of the box lid is a white sticker with a blue framing line on which is printed "Helen Thomas" in black. The box is piped with thin gold cording. The box is hinged with material, lined with blue velvet, and has a gold-colored metal closing latch. |
