Description |
Large Olivetti Arabic/English typewriter and cover. Four unattached pieces: fabric cover, plastic lid, and circular "daisy wheel" and case. Used by Kamal Farag Abdelsalam Ghrour. Kamal's statement on the typewriter: "I received this electronic typewriter back in 1986 when I lived in Hampton, Virginia. It was brand new at the time and a powerful, state of the art tool. At the time of acquisition, I was working as an editor and writer with one of the most prominent Libyan opposition parties vying for a free and democratic Libya (The Libyan National Movement). I used it for writing and editing our publication, Sawt at-Talia (Voice of the Vanguard). The device itself was purchased in England and has many features, including the ability to operate in both Arabic and English." |
