Description |
a-c) three piece folding footstool with a removable padded seat; (a) footstool is carved after a camel with a long, slightly outturned neck and head, and a hinged body down the length of the stool such that the stool collapses; the hinge is formed by lengths of pale brown raw hide wrapped and tied around the joins. The stool is held open and secured via (b) a circular brass cap placed on either of the top protrusions at top of (a). Metal hinges connect the sides of the stool to movable louver-like blades that support (c) a nearly rectangular cushion with notches at short edges that is black at top and white at all other sides. Decoration is fairly simple, with only six brass tacks hammered into each of the four flat paddle-like legs, forming a triangles; similar brass tacks are inserted as eyes at either side of head and at center of neck attaching a fringed leather collar. White paint has been applied lightly as dots around the camel's harness and nose band. |
