Description |
An invitation for the wedding of Imad Zahr and Husna Ali-Khan. The invitation is printed on semi-opaque cream paper in gold ink which was then glued to a light blue fibrous paper oval. A gold, doily hand was glued to the back of the invitation, along with a sheer white and gold ribbon which was folded around the front of the oval. A smaller blue oval with similar cream paper and gold writing asked for regrets. The invitation was mailed to the donor on June 24, 2003, and took place on August 2, 2003 in Washington D.C. The couple getting married were both of the Muslim faith, though one is Indian and the other Palestinian. It is interesting to note the presence of the hand of Fatima on the back of the invitation and the use of the words, "Insh 'Allah" (If God wills it) in the invitation's text. |
