Description |
Square brass ashtray with angled corners and four depressions at each corner for resting a cigar or cigarette; the flat, raised rims are engraved on the top surface "FROM B.K. FORZLEY 1947 DAMASCUS" while the center is engraved in Arabic. Lebanese American, Bashara K. Forzley returned to Lebanon and Syria on May 29, 1947 for the third time since emigrating1897. During that trip, he bought about $1000 worth of gifts for family and friends, including 350 brass ashtrays like this one, that he had made as gifts for friends and relatives in America. |
