Description |
a-c) size 6 three-piece brass coffee grinder consisting of (a) hollow, cylindrical body incised at exterior with bands of smaller geometric patterning, including scallops/circles, hatching, and a palmetto-like motif. Three raised knobs or protrusions are spaced around the circumference of (a) approximately 1/3 down the length of the body, corresponding to the location of the grinding cone or bur inside, the latter of which is rotated via a rod with a squared end that extends up from the bur, through (b) a domed brass top or cap with central opening and turned using (c) a hinged brass crank handle with a squared opening at one end a small bulbous knob at the other. (b) cap is decorated with incised rings and hatching has a flared lip with ridged edge. One face of the grinder is impressed with a maker's mark of a star above a crescent moon with radiating lines, above text reading "HACI ARIN / 6 GARANTI 6" |
