Description |
Brown-coated, cardboard-bound, c. late 1880s Arabic language Bible with cloth bindings that belonged to Saleemy "Mary" Jabbour Yazgie. According to the donor, it was brought by her grandmother Saleeymy, when she came to the United States just after the turn of the twentieth century. The front cover page was later decorated with nine full-color stickers/rub-ons of animals wearing clothing, reminiscent of illustrations from Alice in Wonderland, or Wind in the Willows. there is a small white sticker in the upper right corner of the front cover with the number 282 (2) typed once, and written once. |
