Description |
Riqq (also called daff): is the percussion instrument most intimately associated with the indigenous art music. It is a small tambourine traditionally covered with fish skin and equipped with five sets of brass cymbals. Played with great skill and elaborate technique, the instrument is expected to keep the correct beat and tempo for the rest of the ensemble. |
