Description |
Black and white photograph of people serving and receiving food from a buffet line. They are breaking the fast at a gathering at the Lebanese Social Club. This was at a community hall/mosque on Greenfield and Warren. Appears on page 50 of Arab Americans in Metro Detroit. Caption: Breaking the fast during Ramadan is often a communal act, as seen here at the Lebanese Social Club in 1995. Usually people break fast with their extended family, neighbors, and friends. During the month of Ramadan, the social clubs often coordinate the feasts so that different clubs host the meal. |
