Jasmine Hawamdeh |
Scope & Content |
Jasmine Hawamdeh is a Palestinian American artist from Queens, New York, who also spent part of her childhood in Toronto. Her grandparents were displaced from Ein Karem, Palestine during the 1948 Nakba and later resettled in Calgary, Alberta. Influenced by her grandparent's connection to the land, Jasmine uses her art to explore her Palestinian identity, express longing for her ancestral homeland, and share stories that humanize the Palestinian experience. |
