Playbill (folded 8.5 x 5.5 in) for the musical "The Signal: A Doo Wop Rhapsody" written and directed by Henry Farag. The musical play takes place in Gary, IN at Chrstimas 1956 and revolves around radio DJ Vivian Carter who was the first to introduce America to The Beatles, the Four Seasons, Jerry Butler, Gladys Knight, Jimmy Reed and more top artists. Carter was the first Black female to own a record label, Vee Jay Records. Henry Farag is the child of Egyptian immigrants and grew up listening to Carter's shows. |
