Summary Arabic language bible, circa 1905.

Red with gold writing "The Holy book" on binding in Arabic. The front page indicates that it is a Bible including both the Old and New Testaments.

Writing in English on inside cover of the book. Though hard to decipher, some of the English appears to read, "Johny killed ? 24th, 1939 Tuesday p.m. 11:15 ???? (buried?) ???(Friday??) 27th, 1939. September 10th, 1946 Mary Jo killed ??? 1946 9:30 p.m. Tuesday ???(Buried Friday 9:30???)

Pages of the text are yellowed and substantially brittle. The cover is warped, and the binding has separated. The back cover has separated completely from the book. There are also approximately 30 pages and sections marked with small scraps of yellowed paper - lined writing paper, newsprint, advertisements, etc...
Belonged to the donor's father. She was the youngest of his nine children. Her father had these for as long as she can remember. She is 74 years old at the time of their donation. Her mother(Lamore Owan Kellel) and father's(Joseph Kellel) lives are documented in "The Syrian-Lebanese in North Dakota" by Sherman, Whitney, and Guerrero. Please refer to page 2, and 370.
